How does printer based licensing work?
When you use a printer for the first time it consumes one license seat and decreases the number of available printer seats by one. If the same printer is not used for a 7-day period, the license seat for this printer is released and can be used by another printer. The above mentioned 7-day period is referred to as retention time.
Additionally licenses can be reserved for selected printers. For more information, see the detailed licensing document.
If you need to replace an existing printer with a new one, there is a 30-day grace period in which we allow you to use more printers than what is included in your subscription.
Where are you hosting the application and data?
NiceLabel has 8 years of experience of offering Cloud labeling solutions to some of the most demanding customer environments. We are using world class Microsoft Azure infrastructure as a service and we built our service using best practices and in collaboration with Microsoft. Microsoft Azure ensures the highest levels of availability and security.
How do you ensure security?
We commissioned a security assessment by a 3rd party security consultancy that executed both code and architecture review as well as independent security penetration testing. No major issues were discovered and all recommendations were implemented before release. A detailed report is available to our customers upon request.
Is there a difference in performance between an on premise LMS and Label Cloud?
On a reasonable internet connection, NiceLabel Cloud performance should match the on premise version of LMS. Printing performance will be the same after necessary files are loaded from the cloud storage.
What SLAs are in place for system availability and uptime?
We guarantee 99.5% service uptime for NiceLabel Cloud. For more details see Terms of Service document. While service can also deal with connectivity interrupts, reasonably reliable internet connectivity needs to be assured by the end user.
What happens if the internet connection to Label Cloud is lost?
The system is designed to handle minor connection interrupts gracefully and assure limited printing capability during downtime. After connection is re-established, it will also synchronise print history to the document management system. For best performance, we do recommend using NiceLabel Cloud on a reliable internet connection. See knowledge base article "Offline Access" for more details.
Where can data from my labels come from?
With NiceLabel Cloud Business, you get you own SQL Azure database which you can configure to store the data for your labels. If your data already resides in a 3rd party business system (ERP, MES, WMS) we recommend you integrate printing with it using our integration system.
With NiceLabel Cloud Essentials you can simply use Excel and Access files which you store and manage on NiceLabel Clouds’ document management system.
Is my data co-mingled with other tenants’ data in NiceLabel Cloud?
No. Each customer’s data is stored in a separate cloud database.
